SAT/ACT Workshop

A two day workshop designed to cover the foundational skills and strategies required for the SAT or ACT. It’s a great way to kick start a group of students’ prep.

You chose dates that work for you and a group of friends and we will book a classroom space and provide materials and an instructor. If you pick a set of dates and need help finding other students, we can send out an email to our mailing list to help fill spaces. Four students or more, please.

We save the complicated, advanced problem types for one-on-one sessions where we know from research and experience they’re best taught.
After the workshop, many students transition to one-on-one tutoring.
Our SAT/ACT prep focuses on breaking down the question types in each section and learning the test taking strategies and techniques that go with them. Students will practice active reading, usage/mechanics, rhetorical skills, synthesis, expression of ideas and standard English conventions for the Reading and Writing sections.
Students will practice algebra, advanced mathematics, problem solving, and data analysis for the Math section. ACT students will review and practice techniques for the data analysis required in the Science section.
Additionally, tutors will not only give students insider tools to approach the essay writing process, but make the experience creative and exploratory.

Since the SAT and ACT are content-based exams, tutors will help students set up comprehensive study plans, as we see the best results when students make a commitment to completing practice problems and other homework outside of tutoring sessions.
