Manny has a lifelong love of learning and teaching, which he has pursued in many different forms. In addition to tutoring the SAT, ACT, HSPT, and ISEE, he tutors core academic subjects (math, science, English, history, etc.) at the youth, high school, and college levels. Manny worked as an adjunct professor of Mathematics for several universities in the New York state and city university network (SUNY & CUNY). After establishing foundations in academia as a young professor, Manny expanded his range into the world of entertainment by creating several original TV and digital science series, designed to teach a broader audience about a range of mathematical and scientific topics. With a light-hearted and understanding based approach, whether he is teaching a student in a one-on-one setting, or writing & producing science content designed to reach a global audience, Manny puts his full passion and love of the concepts into every aspect of his educational mission. Nick is an SAT, ACT, and academic tutor who graduated from UCLA with a degree in Cognitive Science. For the past six years, he has been teaching STEM subjects at a one-on-one, accredited school, both in-person and virtually. He loves getting to know his students and tailoring his approach to fit their unique learning styles. His goal is to help students feel confident in what they’re learning and to help guide them towards their next step in life. Aside from being an educator, he is a big Arsenal fan, big music guy, and he plays a lot of chess!. He is available in-person and remotely via Zoom.

Zelda is an educator with 10+ collective years of experience as a tutor, private high school teacher, college advisor, and sports coach. Born and raised in New York City, her family moved to sunny Los Angeles the fall before her 7th grade year. After attending Harvard-Westlake, she matriculated to Princeton University, where she received a bachelor’s in English, along with an ethnic studies certificate. Shortly after, Zelda attained her high school teaching credential and Masters in Education from UCLA before teaching at New Roads School in Santa Monica. Zelda tutors the HSPT and the ISEE, in addition to academic support for middle, high school, and college students. Some areas of expertise include English literature, middle school science and math, study skills, essay writing, and organizational support. Zelda’s teaching style is one of empowerment – she strives to catalyze newfound confidence in her students as they learn. Her approach is to demystify and illuminate, breaking down challenging concepts into bite-sized chunks, and highlighting effective strategies to build proficiency. In her free time, she composes sax, flute, and trumpet parts for neo soul music. Outside of that, she’s just a friendly neighborhood sci-fi nerd, and can often be found chatting endlessly about her love of works like Star Trek, the MCU, and pretty much any film with time travel. Dr. Margaret Montgomery currently serves as an AP United States History and American Studies teacher in Atlanta, GA. Since 2014, Dr. Montgomery has also taught college courses such as Western Civilization and American Studies for both four year and two year higher institutions. She has five years of experience tutoring undergraduates in writing skills and six years of working with highschool students before that. While living in Atlanta she has also served as an individual tutor for AP United States History for three years. She has successfully coached students to earn above average scores on the national exam in both her own class as well as with her individual tutoring. She has been recognized for teaching excellence in history and has helped highschool, undergraduate, and graduate students compose personal statements for admissions applications, fellowship applications, graduate programs, and law schools. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in enthusiasm and compassion. She loves working one-on-one with students because of the opportunity to customize her approach to a student’s needs and become an academic cheerleader. When she’s not in the classroom, Margaret can be found taking her dog Keno on adventures around the city, enjoying makers’ markets in town, or cooking Cajun comfort foods like jambalaya and gumbo. Charlie is an honors graduate of Middlebury College and works as an English teacher at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, a private school in the LA area. Before becoming a teacher, he enjoyed a long and exhilarating career as a TV sitcom writer and advertising executive. He brings all of this experience to bear at Archimedes, where he helps students with their reading and writing skills, coaches high school juniors as they prepare for the ACT and SAT, and advises seniors with their college admissions essays. Outside of the classroom, Charlie spends time with his family hiking, biking, playing tennis and making music. Fun fact: Charlie was once the “12 Years and Under” winner of the National Accordion Player Championships. He is available remotely via Zoom.

Kelli Lycke is a professor at New Mexico State University, teaching in their online technical and professional writing program. She is also a fully credentialed teacher in California and tutors the HSPT, middle school math, reading analysis with evidence-based writing, Spanish, foundational language arts skills, Algebra I, English, and writing. Although she lives in LA, she is originally from Kansas City. Kelli fell in love with tutoring back in 2008 when she began tutoring writing at her local community college. She enjoys tutoring because it provides a great opportunity to connect with people from different walks of life and to feel more connected with the community. When she’s not teaching or tutoring, she’s probably quilting, playing board games, or checking out local historical sites. She is available in-person and remotely via Zoom.  

Athena tutors the HSPT, ISEE, SAT, and ACT. She specializes in math and sciences as well as middle school/high school subject support, reading fluency, building vocabulary, and standard English conventions. She has a bachelors in physics from the University of Chicago and a masters in secondary education-(physics and math) from DePaul University. Athena has taught at the high school and college level for four years and has tutored for over a decade. She follows a holistic approach, helping students not only gain the knowledge necessary to succeed with their short term goals but also the tools to succeed at all academic tasks. Raised in New York and Connecticut, Jordan has been a private tutor since 2010. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in literature and a concentration in 20th-century American history, Jordan moved to Los Angeles, where he has worked with middle school and high school students on everything from HSPT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, GRE, and LSAT test prep to history, English, economics, essay writing and navigating the many steps of the college application process. Jordan believes that nothing inhibits learning quite like anxiety and stress. His ability to tailor lessons to individualized learning styles and paces helps to create an encouraging learning environment for his students that facilitates curious engagement with even the densest material. When Jordan isn’t tutoring, he spends his time podcasting about the NBA, screenwriting for an eclectic array of TV shows on networks like Starz, CrunchyRoll, and ABC, and taking long hikes in the Altadena foothills with his dog. David Rosenberg is an experienced tutor who has worked with students of all grade levels. While his favorite subject is history (especially AP Euro!), he is excited to work with students on anything from 1st grade math to high school English and French. David graduated cum laude from Tufts University, where he majored in International Relations. When he’s not tutoring, he’s busy doing stand-up comedy, playing softball, or reading history books. Originally from San Francisco, Stuart has been a private tutor since 2008. He began as a senior in high school in the Bay Area, working with younger students, and continued as a tutor while attending the University of California Berkeley. He went on to graduate early in the fall of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics. Since moving to Los Angeles, Stuart has continued to work with children and young adults for HSPT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, math, Spanish, chemistry, and general science. Stuart’s passion for education is infectious. He truly enjoys guiding students down the road to academic discovery, and his ability to relate the importance of the subject matter, combined with his relaxed demeanor, provide an encouraging learning environment for his students. When Stuart isn’t tutoring, he spends his time performing stand-up comedy, playing soccer, and cycling all over Los Angeles. He is available in-person and remotely via Zoom.
